Spiced Crab Apple Butter

Spiced Crab Apple Butter - Makes one 450 grams (15 ounce) jar

Ingredients:
500 grams (17 ounces) Crab Apples and/or Flowering Quince
410 ml (14 fluid ounces) water
1 tsp. whole cloves
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1.5″ sticks of cinnamon
245 grams (8 ounces) dark brown sugar

Procedure:
Halve the crab apples and put them into a suitable sauce pan with the water, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. Bring them to a boil and then reduce heat to keep a steady simmer on for about forty-five minutes or until it can be beaten into a thick pulp. Make sure to stir occasionally. Put the pulp through a vegetable mill or fine sieve and measure the final weight of the resulting apple purée. Return it to the cleaned pan and stir in 350 grams (12 ounces) of dark brown sugar for every 450 grams (1 pound) of apple purée. I ended up with 313 grams (10.5 ounces) of apple purée with my small batch so used 245 grams (8 ounces) of dark brown sugar. Set the pan on a low heat and stir for the sugar to dissolve. Bring to a boil and keep boiling, stirring frequently, until the butter is very thick. If you draw a spoon through the mixture it should leave a path behind it. This can take up to an hour to achieve, but mine only took about twenty-five minutes. Put the butter into a warmed and sterilized preserving jar(s) and tighten the lid immediately. The butter will be ready to use as soon as it’s cool and can reasonably be stored as-is for up to a year. Since the recipe includes high-acid fruits, there isn’t a need for hot-water bathing or any further preservation.

MARYLAND CRAB CAKES:
Ingredients:
1 large egg
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1½ teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ cup finely diced celery ( one stalk)
2 tablespoons, finely chopped fresh parsley
1 pound lump crab meat
½ cup panko
Canola oil

Procedure:
Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Combine the egg, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire, Old Bay, salt, celery, and parsley in a large bowl and mix well. Add the crab meat (be sure to check the meat for any hard and sharp cartilage) and panko; gently fold mixture together until just combined, being careful not to shred the crab meat. Shape into 6 crab cakes (about ½ cup each) and place on prepared baking sheet. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat a large nonstick pan to medium heat and coat with canola oil. When oil is hot, place crab cakes in pan and cook until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes per side. Be careful as oil may splatter. Serve immediately with tartar sauce or a squeeze of lemon.

Quick Tartar Sauce

1 cup mayonnaise
1½ tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon minced red onion
1-2 tablespoons lemon juice, to taste
salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

1 10.5 oz. can cream of chicken soup
1/2 soup can of broth (use what the chicken cooked in)
1/2 soup can of milk
1 Tbsp. flour
pinch of salt and pepper
1 can crescent rolls
6 ounces of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
pinch of salt and pepper

Procedure:
Place the chicken in a pot and cover with water, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to medium and cook until the chicken is cooked through. Remove chicken (save broth). When cooled enough to handle, remove the chicken from the bone and shred, set aside. Whisk together the soup, broth, milk, flour, salt and pepper. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into the triangles. Place a little cheese over the dough and at the larger end place a good heaping of the chicken. Roll up and place in a 9x13 casserole dish. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 25 minutes, remove and top with a little more cheese and return to the oven for 5 minutes. Let sit for a couple of minutes before serving, The soup mixture will thicken up like a gravy.

What To Do Upon Starting Skinny Fiber?

1. Know your health issues. If you have some health conditions that require medication, please expect that it may take longer for you to lose weight. Reason being is that your body needs to be “reconditioned” first before your body will be READY to lose this extra weight. You may have some health issues that is causing you to be overweight (and I mean that in the most non-judgmental way possible!) and preventing you from losing weight quickly. In the beginning of starting your Skinny Fiber journey (ONLY if you are “unhealthy”) you may consider taking 2 capsules 3x’s a day before your two biggest meals, for at least 60 - 90 days, without fail. Otherwise, you can take the typically recommended dose of 2 capsules, 2x’s a day, before your biggest meals for also at least 60 - 90 days to see real effects.

Skinny Fiber first starts working on the issues that are slowing the metabolism down, by correcting the body naturally and preparing it for weight loss - that is done by the detox that takes place in the first few days or even weeks. The more off balance the body is, the longer it will take to see weight loss. Have had several people that said they began to notice the weight or inch loss at the very end of the first bottle - that is why we have the 30 day empty bottle guarantee!!! No other company lets you try something for free! :)

2. Drink PLENTY of water........The directions say to drink 8 ounces of water when you take your capsules, but personally for me I drink 16 ounces, and then in between my next dose I will drink another 16 ounces. For ME THIS WAS THE HARDEST PART of taking the product. I was NEVER a water drinker! But now I am on my 31st day of my 90 day challenge and drinking water has become very easy. Skinny Fiber makes you drink water! I'm actually kind of craving it all the time now...

3. Take it EVERY SINGLE day....... Actually this is usually the hardest for people to do...If you are SERIOUS about finally getting healthy, waging war on this obesity epidemic then we need to do this completely COMMITTED! Set a reminder on your cell phone. If you come to me and say this product doesn't work, I am going to ask you 2 questions. How unhealthy are you? And... Did you take the product everyday (honestly! :) )?

4. How can I take Skinny Fiber? If you are good with pills, then you shouldn’t have a problem. Otherwise, take one capsule at a time, do NOT tilt your head backwards or you can get gassy from gulping air, and swallow your capsule with a mouthful of water very quickly. Swallow the second one the same way and finish your glass or bottle of water to make sure it goes down completely.

5. Alternative Ways of Taking Skinny Fiber: You can also open the capsule and put it in your favorite beverage (even coffee is fine), mix it with yogurt, applesauce, oatmeal, etc. You can mix Skinny Fiber in almost anything!! It is very easy to use.

 6. I get this question all the time - What if I don't eat on a normal schedule? My answer is then take the Skinny Fiber product as if it's medication. Take it every day at the same time like clockwork and you'll notice some amazing things will start happening!

7. Other Medications - If you are on other medications or vitamins, take Skinny Fiber one hour apart from them, otherwise Skinny Fiber may absorb them and make them less effective.
